Genealogy and Local History: Research Soulmates

Come to the Library for a lighthearted and “packed with tips” slide presentation focused on the intersection of genealogy and local history, as San Juan Historical Society and Museum research volunteer Robin Jacobson shares what she has learned from some of the best trainers in the country. Family history research includes some actual detective work and historical context. Genealogy without documentation is folklore. Be a history detective with the help of Robin’s top research tips and favorite resources, specific to the San Juan Islands region and worldwide. Do not fear falling down the rabbit hole of research! You’ll be able to guide your course, making surprising and useful discoveries along the way.

Held at the San Juan Island Library
