Over 35 oral histories are available taken from noted island residents covering a wide range of historical topics.
Newspaper Archives from The Friday Harbor Journal & The San Juan Islander
Bound volumes of The Friday Harbor Journal from 1906 to 2000 and The San Juan Islander from 1900 to 1910 are contained in the collection.

Histories of noted San Juan Island families, industries, businesses and buildings are just a few examples of the extensive material available in our research library.
Our Research Library is open to the public by appointment only, due to limited staffing. To schedule an appointment to conduct research or submit a specific request, please complete and submit the form below with as much detail as possible about the information you are seeking. Research fee is $20 minimum. Fees charged help defray the costs of operating the museum facilities. Please bear in mind the Museum cannot guarantee research results and requests may take an extended time to process.
